Traveling to Colorado marked one more state off my list. I now have traveled to 22 out of our 50 states. I recently set a goal with my husband to try to travel to all 50 states. He only has 3 left. I am very jealous. So stay tuned, as I will be checking states off the list.
The trip to Colorado was to attend my nephew’s wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony on top of a mountain at River Run Resort, Keystone, Co.
The wedding location is the building in the center of the picture on top of the mountain.
We had to take two gondola ski lifts to get to the wedding venue. It was a breath taking ride up the mountains.

As we traveled on the gondola all I could think about was how did people build these structures.
The view was breath-taking to the midwest native.
The bride and groom radiated happiness. The miniature bride and groom were ultra cute.

We did not spend much time in Colorado. It was a quick driving trip. We left Illinois on Thursday driving much of the day across Iowa and Nebraska. We spent the night in Kearney, Nebraska. (To see the stops in Nebraska check out that tab on the main page.) Then on the road again the next morning driving through Denver to the Keystone area to the resort. Along the way we drove through the Rocky Mountains, say some old miner towns, a few mines, and many tourist traps. We were focused on getting to the resort to see family and friends so we didn’t stop at any attractions around Denver. Another time!

Rocks layers have always been interesting to me. This layer shows the pushing of the layers as the tectonic plates collided to form the Rocky Mountains.
