Roaming through Costa Rica was an adventure that tested my teacher and leadership skills. On this trip, I partnered with the Spanish teacher to embark on an international adventure where students could experience another culture and immerse themselves in the language. We started planning during the fall semester 2014, with a travel date set for June 2016. It seemed like a huge amount of time before departure, but we wanted to provide ample time for students to be able to pay for the trip. We did some fundraising activities and students worked extra jobs to be rewarded with an awesome adventure.
A full itinerary: zip lining over a rainforest canopy, whitewater rafting, kayaking, snorkeling, a river boat tour cut short by a lightning storm, hiking, walking over suspension bridges, learning some dance moves, traditional Costa Rican foods, staying in unique lodging, more hiking, touring a coffee plantation and learning about how cacao becomes the chocolate we all love to eat.

A first international trip for most of the travelers. We learned about flora and fauna of the diverse ecosystems of Costa Rica. Enjoyed our time with old friends and new friends. A learning adventure creating memories that will last a life time.
